RO Purifier or Vessel Filter: Which Does Your Home Need?

Valley water often reaches the tank with sand, iron and a muddy smell. That is a job for a vessel filter: a pressure vessel packed with layers of gravel, sand, carbon and MnO2 that cleans every litre before it goes to your taps.

Drinking water needs a finer step. An RO purifier such as the Nexus Dispense Pro removes dissolved salts and microbes, then adds back minerals for taste. Models with UV and copper stages add extra protection.

In short

  • Muddy or iron-heavy supply: start with a vessel filter
  • Drinking and cooking: add an RO + UV purifier in the kitchen
  • Hard water stains on fittings: ask us about softening media

Fitting a Bathtub into a Small Bathroom

A bathtub does not need a large room. Compact square soaking tubs like the Zen Soaker are short but deep, so you sit upright with water to your shoulders.

Before you choose, measure the door width, the clear floor where the tub will stand and where the drain sits. Freestanding tubs also need a little space around them for cleaning.

Checklist before ordering

  • Door and stair width for delivery
  • Floor drain position
  • Space for a floor-mounted or wall mixer
  • Water heater capacity for a full bath

Choosing Wall Tiles That Make the Room Look Bigger

Large-format tiles reduce the number of grout lines, which makes walls look calmer and the room feel bigger. They are also quicker to clean.

Light grey and stone-look finishes hide water marks better than pure white, while still reflecting light around the room.

Tips

  • Run tiles to the ceiling in small rooms
  • Use a matching grout colour
  • Order 10% extra for cuts and breakage

Matte Black or Gloss White Bathtub?

Matte black and two-tone bathtubs make a statement and suit warm wood, stone and brushed-gold fittings. The matte surface also hides water spots.

Gloss white is timeless and bounces light, so it is the safer choice for small or darker bathrooms. It also matches any tap finish.

Our picks

  • Statement bathroom: Aurum Noir with a brushed-gold mixer
  • Bright family bathroom: Pearl Oval in gloss white
  • Something different: Calacatta Gold marble finish
